BLAST INDUCED LIQUEFACTION TESTING:

Phase 2: Blast with Foundation Elements (completed on August, 2016)

Phase 1: Soil Blast (completed on May 29, 2015)

Equipment:

        

Piezoresistive pressure transducer installed using cone tip.

Transducer inserted into nylon cone tip housing and mounted on  metal push rod with electrical cable and retrieval cable

Detonator being attached to the 2-lb (0.91kg) DYNO AP packaged emulsion explosives.

Celesco SM1 linear string potentiometer used to measure the surface settlement of the soil.

LIDAR used to measure the soil surface topography before and after blasting.

RADAR used to measure the soil surface topography before and after blasting.

Data acquisition system.

CPT sounding before and after blast induced liquefaction.

Photograph of the soil surface after blasting.
